Obituary for Carol Ann Turner (Abernathy)

Turner, Carol Ann –
Passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday November 30, 2014 in her 63rd year. Loving wife of 7 years to Brian. Beloved step mother to Sean and his wife Jennifer and Michael and his wife Melissa. Proud grandmother of Hailee, Noah, Mya and Ethan. Survived by her brother James and her sister Barbara. Daughter of Janet and the late Ernest Abernathy. Carol was born on April 2, 1951. She was educated at Wellesley College and Wharton School of Business where she graduated with a Masters degree in Business in 1974. Since moving to Ontario, Carol’s business career included employment with United Way of York Region, Imagine Canada and Toronto Foundation. Carol volunteered with the Literacy Council of York Region and sat on the board of directors of CHATS and the Toronto Consort.

Friends may call at the Roadhouse & Rose Funeral Home, 157 Main Street S., Newmarket on Thursday December 4th from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at St. Mary Magdalene Church, 116 Church Street, Schomberg on Friday December 5th at 11:00 a.m. followed by cremation and the spreading of her ashes on her families acreage in Washington, Pennsylvania.
