Bates, Elizabeth (Betty) - Passed away peacefully, at Southlake Village, Newmarket, on Sunday, January 25th, 2015, at the age of 87. She was born in Glasgow, Scotland, to Mary and Robert Courtney, second of four children. She endured hardship and re-location during WWII, but enjoyed guild work, sports and many good times with siblings and friends. In 1967 she and husband Sidney Bates moved to Canada, with their children Carolyn, Paul and Robert.
