Ruth Rose Shipman (née Baldessari)

Born in Brooklyn, NY, on January 30, 1923. Passed suddenly at home on April 10, 2015 in Aurora, Ontario. Will be dearly missed by her children, Fred (Marion), Ruth Ellen (Danny), Bill (Daye), Leslie (Vincent), and Betty (Simon). Loving grandmother of Jesse and Daniel Shipman (mother Kathryn Lennox), Robin (Valerie), Jasmine and Ivy Neeson, Erin (Jay), Stevie (Dan) and Billy Shipman, Lee and Emma (Adam) Colucci and Kate (Josh) and James Bolter. Proud great-grandmother of Isaia, Felix, Alexis, Jules, Allysha, Lea, Liam and Abigail. Mom loved long rides in the country and was happiest when surrounded by her family. Being an avid reader with an insatiable thirst for knowledge kept her busy and content in her 'library'. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at Roadhouse and Rose Funeral Home at 157 Main Street S., Newmarket, Ontario from 6:00pm to 9:00pm. Private family service will be celebrated in the chapel at Roadhouse and Rose Funeral Home on Thursday, April 16, 2015. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Covenant House, The Scott Mission, Tree Canada, or a charity of your choice.
