MADDEN, Edward
October 19, 1935 – September 13, 2015

Passed away peacefully at Royal Victoria Hospital, Barrie, Ontario on September 13, 2015 at the age of 79.

Loving husband of Kay Madden. Beloved father of Allan (Deb), Steven and David (Erin). Proud grandfather of Cathryn, Sarah, Joshua, Parker and Rhys. Survived by brother John and predeceased by brother Bob. Son of the late John and Martha Madden of Northern Ireland.

Ed was part of the Newmarket Legion Pipe Band for many years as well as 6 other bands, including the White Heather Pipes & Drums and the York Regional Police Pipes & Drums. You would find Ed at many a wedding or funeral with bagpipes in hand. The drone of the mighty pipes was heard from the Great Wall of China, to Austria, to the opening of the Confederation Bridge in Prince Edward Island.

Friends may call at Roadhouse & Rose Chapel, 157 Main Street South, Newmarket on Friday, September 18, 2015 for visitation from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. Refreshments will be served.
