Obituary for Brian Dermot Leahy

Brian has been fighting Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) for over three years. He got a Stem cell Transplant last September and did really well for the next six months. He was absolutely thrilled when he was able to go back to work just after his birthday in February of this year.

Unfortunately, going back full time after being away for three years was tough and when he got a Staph infection, it wreaked havoc on his body and caused Septic Shock. He fought hard and beat the infection and a multitude of other mini-infections one after another. Each time he won the battle, but each one took a little more of his strength and reserves.

When the last mini-infection turned into a major one he went into Septic Shock again. He fought hard as usual but in the end, it was one battle too many. He passed away peacefully on Saturday evening surrounded by his wife Margaret, his daughter Alex and his son Steven.

He was, and is, greatly loved and will be missed forever.
