The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Edith Dunn can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Condolence From: Nancy warnick
Condolence: Mrs. Dunn was my violin teacher for over 10 years. She was so patient and encouraging to me when I played. We went to retirement homes at Christmas and blessed so many elderly. I remember she was so sad that I had to quit violin in 12th grade but she gave me such high remarks as a player and I always took that to heart. I have often through of her through the years. A beautiful lady inside and out.

Condolence: Mrs. Dunn was my violin teacher for over 10 years of my childhood. She was patient and kind, even when I had not practiced enough. She was community minded- promoting group lessons and organizing an annual Christmas concert at a retirement home. I am thankful for the skills she taught me and the appreciation she gave me for classical music.

Condolence: There are kind and gentle people in this world whom we wish to be part of our children's lives. Edith was one of these beautiful people. Our weekly lessons at her home also brought us in contact with her wonderful family, Ed, Jamie, Stephen, Katie and Andrew.
She taught our daughters, Jillian and Jennifer, to enjoy and play beautiful music on the violin, that led them to teaching, orchestral performance and music therapy. They learned to play the Suzuki repertoire with others at a very young age in small group sessions and large group gatherings. We travelled together with her to the University of Wisconsin many years ago where they met Dr. Suzuki and performed with 1000 children at once. She made music a big part of our lives and the girls continue to engage with others and especially the sick and elderly, through music, to this day. We visited Edith a couple of weeks ago and Jen played a few of these pieces for her that she taught her as a child beginning at the age of 4. Edith came to life with those beautiful memories they had shared together. We are sad to think that we will no longer be able to share these moments with her, but she will always be a deep and enduring part of our lives.

Condolence: Together with our children, John, Matthew and Elizabeth O'Reilly,
we grieve the loss of the truly exceptional Mrs. Dunn.
She was a true lady in every sense of the word: kind and intelligent, beautiful, talented, and funny. She was one of the most inspirational people I have ever met, and her loss leaves this world a lesser place. Her life and personality made the world better, and our lives the better too, for having been privileged enough to have known her.
Godspeed, dearest Mrs. Dunn.
We know that at last you are reunited with Stephen, Katie and Ed, and that suffering is over.
We will miss you always, and never, ever forget you. We love you.
