The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Joan Bell can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolence: So sorry to hear of the passing of Aunt Joan. We have so many fond memories of our time with her over many years. Visiting as a child to the farm and learning the differences between city and country life. Bringing our children to the farm many years later and Aunt Joan giving them tractor rides... still one of their favourite memories.

She had such a long and interesting life. Leaving Canada during the depression to go to England. Being sent back to Canada from England at age 13 to escape the bombing of London during WWII. We can't even imagine how difficult it must have been at that age to leave her parents and get on a boat... Raising 7 children, rural post delivery and baliff, the farm, the horses.

She was always very close to my mother (her big sister July) and they stayed in touch all their lives. At least now she is reunited with her and Uncle Pete. It is difficult to lose your parents even though you know the day must come but you will always have the memories of the wonderful person she was.

Love to David, Peter, Julie, Laurie, Joey, John and Joanna
