When I think of Dan, it’s a lovely kaleidoscope of pictures that roll along with expressions both on his face and with his voice providing a commentary as he liked to do. The pictures could have started out on a lovely day when on the drive round of the family home in Willowdale I first met Dan, my younger sister’s new friend. Even then Danny preferred being outdoors and, I think, his car might have been blue. Over the years life events played out. They ranged from engagements the same year, marriages, and times shared that included dinners, movies, music, with evenings spent watching a movie and talking along with many, many winter and summer weekends at Crystal Lake. The times of celebrations that included family events along with New Year’s (Resolutions) and Christmas times (stuffed turkey). Some very great memories. Along those years marched some remarkable Halloween parties and costumes! (Big Bird & the Cone Heads!) We had families, created changes in our working careers, lost friends and family and lived life. I’ll keep these good times for when I think of Dan, along with his dry humor, telling of some special TV shows, training and caring for his dogs, planning to go fishing and music, something he was good at making which was an intrinsic part of his life. Sleep easy Dan, walk the dogs, cook some great meals and enjoy the music. To his family & friends I wish you time to share the good memories we have, to care for each other and keep in good health.
