Joseph “Douglas” Penrose passed away peacefully at his home in Barrie on Sunday, January 14th, 2018 in his 66th year. He is survived by his wife Cathie, son Matthew and daughters Nannette Gardner and Kellie Penrose McIntosh. Proud grandfather of Danny and Becky Gardner, Katie and Brittany Penrose. Loving brother of Kathie Taylor.

Doug was born, raised and worked in Newmarket. He moved to Barrie in 1996 and became an avid Barrie Colts fan. His family was his whole world and he will be sadly missed by all.

A Memorial Service will be held at Roadhouse & Rose Funeral Home on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 2 p.m. with a reception to follow. Memorial Donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
