Obituary for Frederick Alfred George Ede

Ede, Frederick Alfred George (Fred)
Passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at Southlake Regional Health Centre on April 17, 2018 in his 81st year.
Loving husband of Jean (nee Walker) for 59 years. Beloved father of Julia and Jonathan(Trish). Proud grandfather of April (Adam), Nicole (Sid), Jennifer (Dave), Teri (Kristof), Eryn, Amy. Great grandfather of Andrew, Alexis, Brooke, Eva, Hunter and Mia. He is survived by his siblings Christine, Peter and predeceased by James. Dear son of the late Betty and George Ede.
Fred was born and raised in Surrey, England. He was a member of the R.A.F. when he met his soulmate Jean. He was a 47 year employee of I.B.M. which moved him to North America. He loved his family and was always so happy to see them. Some of his favourite times were spent in the garden, he enjoyed sharing his veggies with family and neighbours. He really enjoyed photography and liked to share his photos with the photography club he was a member of. He was also a member of the Historical Society of Newmarket and was an early volunteer at the Elman W. Campbell Museum. He was an avid reader and loved a debate. He loved to fix and renovate his home. (his children learnt a lot of skills from him) He made many friends and touched a lot of lives.
A special thanks to the wonderful staff in the Southlake ICU.
Celebration of Life will be held at Roadhouse and Rose Funeral Home, 157 Main St S, Newmarket, Ont. on Sunday April 29, 2018, from 1-3 pm.
