BROWN, Edith - Passed away peacefully at Bradford Valley Care Community, on April 30, 2018, in her 96th year. Previously deceased by husband Bob Sr. of East York. Beloved mother of Bob (Ann) of Newmarket. Proud grandmother of Robert (Sarah) of Ancaster, James (Jenn) of Buckhorn and Jen (Graham Fraser) of London and St. John's. Great grandmother of Joshua, Jonah, Robyn, Michaela and Sadie. Predeceased by brother Bert Haslam (Aileen) of Sudbury and sister Thelma Morgan (Merv) of Scarborough. Daughter of the late Henry and Leah Haslam of East York. Lifelong resident of East York. Very active in several community groups, senior's groups (Stan Wadlow), bowling and IOF. Employee of Collins Radio (Rockwell) in East York for over thirty years. Loved to dance and active in many line dance, square dance, ballroom, ice and roller skating dance groups. Patron of the Mutual street roller skating arena (The Terrace) for over forty years. Enjoyed travel throughout Canada, the United States and overseas. Loved the beach and water. Enjoyed sailing and any opportunity to be boating. Always enjoyed a good party, getting together with many friends and extended family. The family would like to thank the staff at the Roxborough Retirement Home, and a special thank you to the very caring staff at Bradford Valley. A celebration of her life will take place at the Roadhouse & Rose Funeral Home, 157 Main St. S., Newmarket, on Friday, May 4, 2018, at 1 p.m., with visitation one hour prior.
