Passed away on Sunday, April 29th surrounded by family and friends at Sunnybrook Hospital. Beloved husband of Saundra and proud father of Kevin (Sue), Tim (Dawn), Tracey (Kelly) and stepfather to Veronica and Brian. Loving grandfather to Sydney, Jada, Rayden, Emery, Rory and Delaney. Neil was a talented musician and singer. He will be dearly missed by many.

Neil was born in Montreal to Maurice and Rae Laliberte and brother to Peter on April 30th, 1942. He attended Concordia University where he studied Economics. Neil served in the Canadian Navy Reserve. He was a devoted teacher and later, principal in multiple school Boards across the country. He was a passionate hockey fan, coach and sports enthusiast. Neil developed the computer program at the Newmarket Senior Centre. He was an active member of the UCC Chordsman. He was also a founding member of the String-A-Longs who played for many local retirement residences and assisted living facilities. Neil was a CFQ Qigong instructor and taught at the Senior Centre.

Funeral services will be held at St. Elizabeth Seton Church, 17955 Leslie Street in Newmarket on Monday, May 7th. Funeral Mass will be at 1pm followed by a Celebration of Life in Church Hall from 2pm to 6pm.

Cremation has taken place. Shiva will be held on Tuesday, May 8th at 885 Sparrow Road in Newmarket from 1pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to Canadian Red Cross, Doctors Without Borders and Make a Wish Foundation.
