Although not licensed funeral directors, these members of our staff are vitally important toward the operation of our firm.  These individuals make it possible for us to professionally coordinate funerals with the quality of service our community has come to expect from us.

Jackie Playter, Hostess Email: jackie@roadhouseandrose.com Website: www.roadhouseandrose.com Office Phone: (905) 895-6631 Fax: (905) 895-4747 Jackie was born in Toronto and grew up in Island Grove, Georgina.  In 1968 Jackie married Glenn Playter.  They reside in Newmarket and have three children:  Wes, Allison & Brent.  Among other responsibilities, Jackie coordinates the luncheon functions at the funeral home.  She is very active in the community, particularly in helping charitable organizations and downtown Newmarket events.  She is a member of the Christian Baptist Church.

Doug Howlett, Funeral Director's Assistant Office Phone: (905) 895-6631 Fax: (905) 895-4747 Doug was born in Newmarket.  After working as a farmer for twenty years, Doug began working in the funeral services industry.   Doug began working at the A.W. Miles Funeral Home (later Humphrey's) in Toronto in 1972.  Doug has been with Roadhouse & Rose since 1995.  Doug and his wife Lynda have two children, Rick and Valerie.  When Doug is not working, he enjoys restoring old tractors and talking about the farming industry.

April-Dawn Drobig, Pre-Planning Specialist Email: april-dawn@roadhouseandrose.com Website: www.roadhouseandrose.com Office Phone: 905-895-6631 Fax: 905-895-4747 Mobile Phone: 905-830-3087 April-Dawn was born and raised in Unionville.  In 1996, she moved to Uxbridge, to raise her three sons, where they are all very active in the community.  April-Dawn comes to Roadhouse & Rose with a Degree in Social Work, with a background in palliative care and bereavement counselling for the past fifteen years.  She is excited to be graduating in June from the Funeral Services Education program at Humber College.  The experience April-Dawn offers together with her compassion provides our Pre-need Department a unique personal touch.

Melissa is the 3rd of 5 children of Doug and Lisa Baker. Melissa attended Huron Heights Secondary School and later completed a course for hairstyling in Oshawa. Melissa joined the staff of Roadhouse and Rose Funeral Home in 2010 as Executive Assistant.

She attends Sir William Mulock Secondary School and is graduating this upcoming June. Morgan is currently working at Roadhouse and Rose Funeral Home as a Funeral Director Assistant. She looks forward to attending Humber College to completing her education to become a licensed funeral director.

She is currently a grade 12 student at Huron Heights Secondary School and is in the process of completing her final semester of high school. Ashley is presently working at Roadhouse and Rose Funeral Home as a Funeral Director's Assistant and is looking forward to attending Humber College and completing her education in Funeral Service.

She attended Huron Heights Secondary School and later studied biology and psychology at Wilfrid Laurier University. Meagan is currently working at Roadhouse and Rose Funeral Home as a Funeral Director Assistant. She looks forward to attending Humber College in the fall to complete her education to become a licensed funeral director.
