Although not licenced funeral directors, these members of our staff are vitally important toward the operation of our firm.  These individuals make it possible for us to professionally coordinate funerals with the quality of service our community has come to expect from us.

Jackie Playter, Hostess Email: jackie@roadhouseandrose.com Website: www.roadhouseandrose.com Office Phone: (905) 895-6631 Fax: (905) 895-4747 Jackie was born in Toronto and grew up in Island Grove, Georgina.  In 1968 Jackie married Glenn Playter.  They reside in Newmarket and have three children:  Wes, Allison & Brent.  Among other responsibilities, Jackie coordinates the luncheon functions at the funeral home.  She is very active in the community, particularly in helping charitable organizations and downtown Newmarket events.  She is a member of the Christian Baptist Church.

Doug Howlett, Funeral Director's Assistant Office Phone: (905) 895-6631 Fax: (905) 895-4747 Doug was born in Newmarket.  After working as a farmer for twenty years, Doug began working in the funeral services industry.   Doug began working at the A.W. Miles Funeral Home (later Humphrey's) in Toronto in 1972.  Doug has been with Roadhouse & Rose since 1995.  Doug and his wife Lynda have two children, Rick and Valerie.  When Doug is not working, he enjoys restoring old tractors and talking about the farming industry.

Keith Taylor, Bereavement / Grief Counselor Email: keith@roadhouseandrose.com Office Phone: 905-895-7750 Fax: 905-895-4747 Keith was born and raised in Toronto.  He holds a Bachelor of Theology degree and a Masters of Divinity Degree with a specialty in chaplaincy and palliative care from Kansas City Medical Centre.  He has served as Pastor of the Newmarket Church of the Nazarene since 1991, Chaplain for Palliative Care (Southlake Regional Health Centre) and is Director of Genesis Bereavement Resource Centre.  He is also a clinician for the Trauma Management Group.  He and his wife Pamela reside in Newmarket and have four children.
