Obituary for Adina Selma Coughtry (Albrecht)

Coughtry, Adina Selma (née Albrecht)

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mom on 6 September 2023 just weeks shy of her 88th birthday on the 26th. Adina is predeceased by her husband Raymond Coupal (d.1982), husband Peter Coughtry (d.2008), son Kenneth Coupal (d.2023), and son-in-law Dean Quennell (d.2007). She suffered from many debilitating health issues over the last few years and left this earthly life on her own terms and is at peace.

Adina was born in Montréal, QC, and raised with her older brothers Don (d.1988) and Wally by parents Adolf (d.1982) & Selma Albrecht (d.2010). She was a lively child and active in many sports until asthma forced her to slow down. In later years she was an avid collector and baker, often in the kitchen making desserts & pouring over the latest celebrity cookbooks.

Adina is survived by her daughters Gale Coupal (Dean) and Brenda Allison (Larry), grandmother to Jeff Allison (Nicole), Kevin Allison, Haleigh Allison, Victoria Allison, and Tyler Coupal; and great-grandmother to Payton Allison. Many friends and neighbours know her generosity of spirit and we want to especially thank Dan & Donna for their love, support, and kindness given to our mom, they are truly the very best in every way!

Donations to the Canadian Cancer Foundation, Juvenile Diabetes Association, or a charity of your choice as an expression of your sympathy are appreciated. Otherwise, have a Bloody Caesar in her memory!

God saw you getting tired when a cure was not to be, so He closed his arms around you and whispered, "Come to Me". You didn't deserve what you went through, so He gave you rest, God's garden must be beautiful as He only takes the best. And when we saw you sleeping, so peaceful and free of pain, we could not wish you back to us to suffer that again.
