Obituary for Audrey Jill Brown (Hatch)
Brown, Audrey Jill - “Jill”
Passed away peacefully on Monday January 9, 2023, with her family by her side, at the age of 84. Loving wife of Graham for 62 years. Beloved mother of Colleen (Douglas Peart) and Catherine (Joe Sponga). Proud grandmother of Jacob Sponga. Jill was predeceased by her father John G. Hatch, mother Audrey Hatch, both of Winnipeg and brother “Jack” Hatch of Sorel-Tracy.
Jill was educated in Winnipeg as an RN (registered nurse). She maintained contact with her nursing classmates for over 60 years. She later obtained a Library Technician degree and worked at the Grace Hospital and Health Sciences Centre libraries in Winnipeg for many years. Jill and Graham retired to their dream cottage at Lake of Two Mountains and they wintered in Florida. Jill enjoyed doing volunteer work in Kenora, Kitchener and at Southlake Hospital in Newmarket.
Jill was an avid hiker and loved nothing more than a day in the woods, especially looking for the marsh marigolds and trilliums in the spring. She was a member of several Kitchener hiking clubs including the Happy Hoofers and Re-Soles. She was also a race walker and interested in physical activity of all types. Jill loved a good book – what librarian wouldn’t!

Cremation has taken place, as per Jill's wishes. No formal service will be held as requested by Jill. There will be a private family gathering in her honour at a later date.
