Passed away suddenly at home in Newmarket on Wednesday, October 4th, 2023, in her 74th year.
Loving sister of Shelagh (Ken) Mulveney of Claremont, and Alexandra “Sandi” (Carl – predeceased) Breutigam of Sauble Beach.

Proud aunt of Kristal (Doug) Mantle of Woodville, Kelly (Jeff) Wilkins of Sauble Beach, Sarah (Brant Bigham) Mulveney of Wasaga Beach, and Tim (Marcia Gilpin) Mulveney of Pickering.

Great aunt of Tyson, Reese, and Bree Wilkins, Noah and Olivia Mantle, and Lexi-Jane Mulveney-Bigham.
Special “aunt” to Hilarie (Tim) McIntyre, Paul Bawden and Kevin (Carlyng) Bawden, as well as David Shapiro.

Special “great aunt” to Maielle Partridge and Landon McIntyre.

Barb will be greatly missed by her many co-workers, as well as her dog Macy and cat Tuxedo.

Barb was educated at the University of Toronto where she graduated with a degree in Physical and Occupational Therapy. At the time of Barb’s retirement, she was a Program Analyst in the Developmental Services branch in the Ontario Ministry of Children’s Services. Barb was well respected in her field and had a celebrated career. Barb was recognized with a Public Service Recognition Award by the Ombudsman Ontario in 2004. In 2007, Barb received the Amethyst Award for Outstanding Achievement by Ontario Public Servants.

Friends may call at the Roadhouse & Rose Funeral Home, 157 Main St. S., Newmarket, on Sunday, October 22nd. Visitation is from 1-2 pm. Funeral service in the chapel at 2 pm, followed by a reception from 3-5 pm.
