Obituary for Barbara Runeckles
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Barbara Runeckles at 83 years of age. She will be remembered by her sister Peg, her children Matthew and Joanne along with their spouses Rita and Bhyrn, her grandchildren Kyle, Jake and Brittany, as well as her extended family and friends.
Barbara was born in Enfield, Middlesex, England, to Leslie and Ivy Wilson. In Barbara’s early life, she worked as a comptometer operator, before moving to Canada to settle in Montreal. Barbara raised two generations of Runeckles, and passed her sharp sense of humour on to all of them. She was always able to laugh, even when she was having a bad day.
She was a talented artist, able to turn anything into a painting on her easel. Barbara always enjoyed a fresh cup of tea with a crossword, trips with her sister to the Canary Islands, or taking on a jigsaw puzzle. She also loved to watch Wheel of Fortune and British detective series while cuddling up with the many pets she cared for throughout the years.
The family would like to thank the Southlake Residential Care Village for caring for Barbara over the past two years.
