Obituary for Brian Robert Blight
Brian Robert Blight Feb 28th 1960 - June 12 2020
Passed away peacefully at home on June 12th 2020 in his 61st year. Loving husband of Mary for 30 years, father of Jessie (Trina) and Jennifer. Proud Grandfather of Shaina. Beloved son of the late Grant and Jean Blight. Brother of the late Larry (Liz), Murray (Cindy), Judy (Richard Poulin), Sharon (Robert Sargent) and will be lovingly remembered by his many nieces and nephews. Brian was looking forward to the birth of his grandson in September.
Brian and Mary were high school sweethearts with dreams of starting their own family, dating for 11 years before getting married and purchased their first home there after. He was a family man through and through, never hesitating to support his children in whatever endeavors they chose to pursue.
Born and raised in Newmarket, Brian was always known as the guy who could make you laugh in any conversation. Brian was raised in a musical family, with his love of music continuing throughout his entire life. In his younger years he played in many bands and could often be found strumming by the campfire. Brian spent many hours in his train room enjoying his love of N-scale model trains. You could always catch him on the many lakes in the area sitting silently on the boat waiting for a nibble on his fishing line. Brian worked hard as a contractor and was happy to share his expertise with those around him, in particular you can ask his many nephews and they will say “Brian taught me everything I know”. He will be greatly missed.
