Obituary for Carol Louise Hall (Linington)

HALL, Carol Louise (nee Linington) – It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Mother, Carol, on Thursday, November 2nd, 2023 in her 89th year. Loving wife of the late Barry Forsythe Hall for over 40 years. Beloved mother of James, Stuart and Michael (Mary). Proud and beloved Nanny of Robert, Victoria, Christopher (Brittany), Lindsay (Nyk), Gregory, Shawna (Vince), Matthew (Fallon), Michael (Meagan) and Olivia (Eric). Proud and beloved “GG” to Liam and Leia, Aiden and Emma, Lincoln and Ashton, Teddy and Malcolm and Evie. A favourite Aunt to many special nieces and nephews, and a friend to all! Loving sister to Susan (Dennis) and Henry. Beloved daughter of the late Henry and Ruth Linington.

Carol was born and raised in Toronto where she met her loving husband Barry and lived their life to the fullest while raising their three sons, who always kept them on their toes! Until her retirement, Carol’s job as a secretary at a surveying company brought her great pride and a sense of accomplishment. Besides attending many of their boys’ hockey games, Carol and Barry loved to travel and spent many leisurely hours on their boat, the “Cary B”, eventually retiring to their cottage on Paudash Lake. They always welcomed their boys’ friends into their home with open arms. Many considered Carol to be their second “mom” and remember her for being very hip and cool. She had so many varied interests, to say the least. In her leisure time, she loved playing the piano and thoroughly enjoyed reading. After retiring, she devoted many hours volunteering at the Ajax and Newmarket hospitals and crocheting dolls for charity. She also loved her sports, especially the Blue Jays! Even well into her eighties, she would enjoy going to ball games with her family and we’ll never forget the time she attended an outdoor winter classic hockey game with so much enthusiasm. Carol never said no to an invitation to go out and was always on the go. She had a great sense of humor and always had a witty comeback . She loved her family and always looked forward to hosting family dinners and holiday events. Carol will be greatly missed by her family. She will always be remembered as the coolest, jazziest “nanny” we’ve ever known.

The family would like to thank the caring staff at Parkview LTC where Carol spent the last two years of her life.
