Dear Domen Kids: From Andy and Cathy on down, from Frankie and Mare on up and in particular my sweet sister of the heart Joanne and wonderful boy next door John,
My thoughts are with you as say good bye to your mom today. All the Weijs Girls know full well how lucky we were to have your family in our lives growing up. Your mom came strongly to my mind a few weeks back; my heart immediately softened as I pictured her soft white curled hair, curious eyes and smiling raspy voice. When I think of your mom I think of her strength and equally her softness. I said to myself "Awww Mrs. Domen!!! and 'hugged' her through the void.

My earliest memory of your mom was being struck by what was on the dining room table. In the center under a lace doily I saw a beautiful multi colored prayer plant. Nestled beside it was a statue of Mary. Why did this image stay so strongly with me? It was the intentional and loving act of caring for and creating a home for her family. This simple yet powerful image of her loving care will always be what I remember about your Mom.
Well that is until the day she totally and utterly blew my mind by welcoming Niki into the family.....I remember saying to myself "I do not know anything about this woman!" And then when she got her license thinking Well!!! isn't she full of surprises!! And her sharp eyes! : she spotted the price tag on one sisters dress just before a wedding and deftly ripped it off while simultaneously but surreptitiously, checking the price - I have photographic proof really . Lol. All this is to say I hope your cherished memories of your mom bring you peace and serenity when you feel her loss most deeply.
Love Patty Weijs-Tyhuis and Gerry Tyhuis

Dear Domen family,
Today I took a bike ride along the Holland River, and fondly in my memory was your mom. Such a tender, loving, funny, strong woman, so gentle and interested with us all. All of you are in our hearts right now, heartbroken with your loss, and hope to one day soon share the comfort and joy we always treasure with the Doman family. xox Angela Weijs

Best family,
Our condolences on the loss of Aunt Cor, your dear mother and grandmother.
We were only allowed to see Aunt Cor once, but it felt very familiar then. We remember her as a warm, gentle person. It's nice that she has been able to live to a blessed age, but missing a mother and grandmother always hurts. Be comforted by the many beautiful memories you will keep and cherish.
Lots of strength to all of you.
