Obituary for Darrell Grant Whittle
WHITTLE, Darrell Grant
July 2, 1956 – June 22, 2019
Darrell passed away at Southlake Regional Health Center in Newmarket on June 22, 2019. In 1994 he was diagnosed with Usual Interstitial Pneumonia which is anything but usual. It is a rare type of Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis. His condition was stable until his recent flare up.
Darrell was retired but had worked at IBM for over 30 years. He was lucky to become friends with many of his work colleagues, both in Canada and the USA.
Darrell and Marilyn were happily married. June 30, 2019 would have been their 39th wedding anniversary.
Darrell was a loving and proud father to Kyle (Jaclyn) and Lisa (Vincent). He was a loving and proud grandfather of Julianne and Abigail.
Darrell was the dear son of Joyce and the late Harry Whittle. He was the loving brother to the late Marilyn (Jerry), Joni (Danny), twin sister Darlene (Dave) and Larry (Sherry) plus the uncle to many cherished nieces and nephews.
Those who so desire may make a memorial donation in Darrell’s name to the Ontario Lung Association.
