Obituary for Doreen Ellen Revie
DOREEN ELLEN (SMITTEN) REVIE, 84 years, passed away on April 3, 2022 at Southlake Regional
Health Centre, Newmarket, Ontario.
She was born in Toronto on December 6, 1937 to Charles Smitten and Emma Prescot (Hendry)
Smitten. She married Ronald Craig Revie on September 13, 1958. A long-time employee of
Office Specialty in Newmarket, then in Holland Landing, she lived in Newmarket for over four
decades, raised her family there, and in her later years enjoyed singing with the Sweet Adelines’
Pineridge Chorus.
Doreen is survived by her daughter Debra Lippay (Doug), Sunderland, Ontario; daughter Linda,
Lakefield, Ontario; son Michael, Red Deer, Alberta; granddaughters Nicole Lippay and Chloe
Revie; grandson Daniel Revie; nephews Greig Revie, George Revie, Rob Revie, Richard Smitten
and Gary Smitten; nieces Mary Anne Griffin, Catherine Chandler, Sharon Houston and Susan
Smitten; sister-in-law Iris (Murray) Smitten; and cousins Carol Clarke and Jackie Manson.
She is predeceased by her husband Ronald Revie (Cedarvale Lodge, Keswick, ON); brothers
Allan Charles Smitten (Victoria, BC) and Ronald Frederick Smitten (Toronto, ON); sisters-in-law
Joan (Whitehead) Revie and Verna (Smith) Smitten; and nephews Bobby Revie and Jack
Coveyduc.
There is no formal service, but a family gathering will take place at a later date. The family
would like to thank the nurses and staff at Cedarvale Retirement and Care Community in
Keswick and Dr. Esther Szaky and the staff at Oakridges Medical (Kidney Clinic). In lieu of
flowers, the family would prefer a donation be made in her name to The Kidney Foundation of
Canada.
