Passed away peacefully at his home in Newmarket, on Monday, May 17, 2021 at 62 years of age surrounded by his family. Devoted husband of Rosemary (McLellan) for 34 years. Beloved father of Stephanie and Keith. Brother of Diane (Warren McDonald), Judith (Rob Turner), and Brenda Lennox. Brother-in-law of McLellan sisters and brothers and many nieces and nephews. Doug was positive, social, and highly motivated. He was educated at the University of Calgary (Computer Science) and the University of Toronto (MBA). He spent many years in the IT industry and later discovered his love of CrossFit, Ironman triathlons, and fitness competitions of all kinds. He turned his passion into a career by following his dreams and opening a cycling studio. He loved the positive impact the studio had on its members and the community, supporting many causes through charity ride fundraisers. Special thanks and much gratitude to the incredible and caring staff at Princess Margaret Hospital, especially Dr. Siu, Dr. Bratman, and Dr. Hope. Cremation has taken place and due to COVID restrictions a private service will be planned. If desired, memorial donations may be made to Princess Margaret Hospital (or the Canadian Cancer Society).
