Obituary for Eleanor Catherine MacKenzie
Mackenzie, Eleanor Catherine – Passed away peacefully at Sunnybrook Hospital, in Toronto, ON on March 25, 2023, at 81 years of age. Loving wife of the late Ross Stewart MacKenzie (d. 2017), proud mother of Sandy and Trevor (wife Nicole), much loved grandmother of Lindsay, Tasha, (their mother Leanne), Tyler, Cameron and Paige.
Eleanor was born on August 25, 1941 in Campbellton, New Brunswick, to John and Isabel (Gillis) Millican. She grew up in Campbellton and spent her summers with family in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. Eleanor graduated from McGill University in 1964 with a Bachelor of Science. After moving to Ontario, she spent most of her career working as a dietician at the Clark Institute (now CAMH) and retired from The Wellesley/St. Michaels Hospital.
Eleanor loved to travel. Her many adventures took her around the world, and she made incredible friendships with people she met along the way. Eleanor enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, playing bridge, driving to New Brunswick to visit family and friends, and trips to Arizona for shopping and sunshine. She also enjoyed a nice glass of wine and oysters. But more than anything, Eleanor loved her family. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy and a constant source of entertainment for her.
She will be sadly missed by her many friends and family.

Visitation will take place at the Roadhouse & Rose Funeral Home, 157 Main St. S., in Newmarket, on Saturday May 27, 2023, from 1-2 p.m. followed by a Memorial Service in the chapel at 2 p.m. All are invited to a reception following the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Palliative Care Unit or the Odette Cancer Centre at Sunnybrook Hospital would be appreciated.
