Obituary for Elizabeth Richardson Mitchell (Anderson) `

Elizabeth “Betty” Mitchell (nee Anderson)
Passed away peacefully at Mackenzie Place on January 3, 2021. Betty was born April 4, 1928 in St. Andrews, Scotland, moved to Canada with her husband John and her young family. Betty was known for her love of her flower gardens, dancing, and as a tireless volunteer. She helped in many different activities, was a member of the River Drive Park recreational committee, and the Bradford Danube Seniors Centre, working children’s fundays, including parades in East Gwillimbury, raising funds for Bradford’s Carrot fest and the Stronach Regional Cancer Centre, earning the outstanding volunteer award from The Federal Riding of Barrie Simcoe Bradford. Betty is survived by her children, Elizabeth Robinson (Jim), Margaret Coates, David Mitchell, Iain Mitchell (Karen Sheridan). She will be missed by her Grandchildren, John Nancarrow, Drew Nancarrow, Adam Robinson (Trina), Neil Robinson, Sam Coates. (Danielle), Leah Woods (Mike), Angie Outar (Nick), Allison Coates, Christopher Mitchell. Great grandchildren Joseph, Nicholas, Gabrielle (MacKenzie), Skie, Samantha, Aiden, Anna, Cameron, Rhys, Elizabeth, Joshua. Great-great granddaughter, Eleanor Rose. A huge thank you to the staff of the MacKenzie Place for their dedicated care of Betty. Due to Covid restrictions, there will be no service at this time. Donations in memory of Betty in lieu of flowers can be made to Southlake Regional Health Centre directed to the Regional Cardiac Care Program.
