Francis “Frank” Edward Kelly

Frank passed away peacefully, in his 94th year, at the Margaret Bahen Hospice, surrounded by his family.

Beloved husband of the late Pat Kelly (Vince). Loving father, father-in-law and Papa to Jane and Paul Taylor (Paul Jr.), Suzanne and Barry Norton (Amy), Kathy Kelly and Wayne Kalinski (Kaela and Mejka), Frank Jr. and Kimberley Kelly (Danielle and Joshua), Fred and Debora Kelly (Drew and Allison), Mary and Chris Wray (David and Kristin) and Tricia and Anthony Johnson (Joseph and Annie). Special Great Grandfather to Charlotte, Lucy, Dreya, Georgia, Hendrix, Cruz, Jolene, West, Easton, Hudson, Paisley, and Campbell. Frank is survived by his brother Ed Kelly and his sister Kathy Kilmer. He will be missed by his dear friend Barbie Farquharson.

Born in Toronto, Frank worked as a Photoengraver at Northgraves and Photoengravers and Electrotypers. Frank and Pat moved to Sharon as participants in a building co-operative. There they raised their family and became active community members. Frank was a community leader. He was a school Trustee, Vice Chair and Chairman of the York Catholic District School Board and was a Town Councillor for the Town of East Gwillimbury, serving on many Town committees. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus (St. Thomas of Villanova Council) and was a Charter Member of the Holland Landing and District Lions Club. In 2001 he received a Volunteer of the Year Award and throughout the years has received numerous awards of recognition and appreciation.

It was Frank’s wish to be cremated. The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Elizabeth Seton Church, 17955 Leslie St., Newmarket on Thursday, August 4, 2022. Visitation will take place at the Church from 11 am to 1 pm, followed by the Funeral Mass at 1 pm. There will be a reception afterwards in the Parish Hall. A private interment will take place at 3:30 pm at the St. John’s Cemetery.
