STOKES, George Arthur – Passed away on April 22, 2019, at Southlake Regional Health Centre, surrounded by his family, at 70 years of age. George is father of Larrie (Catherine) and Shawn (Wendy). Grandfather of Jamie, Justin, Melissa, Dylan and Courtney. Great grandfather of three. Predeceased by his parents Don and Jean Stokes. Brother of the late Mary (Jim), Helen (Wayne), John, the late Ric, Garry, Glenn, the late Sheila, Nancy (Las). George will be missed, but not forgotten by his nieces, nephews, family and friends. At George’s request, cremation has taken place. A graveside service will be held at St. John's Cemetery, 250 Old Main Street North, Newmarket, on Saturday, May 25 at 1 p.m. followed by a celebration of life at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 426, 707 Srigley Street, Newmarket. All are welcome. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Stronach Regional Cancer Centre at Southlake Regional Health Centre. On-line condolences may be made at www.roadhouseandrose.com

George was one of my very close friends. He taught me to play horse shoes, he brought me sunflowers to grow, my fondest times with George was at Shoes... If I close my eyes I can still here him yelling..." Lucy!!!! DO SOMETHING!... Or the time we won the horse shoe belt and I thought we were still playing.... DUH 💜 I will miss you my Friend

My thoughts and prayers go out to all the family and friends of George, he will be sadly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him., I will miss his friendliness, his jokes, and all our chats we had over the past few years, he was related by marriage to my daughter and her husband, so to me he was like family, i will miss you George, R.I.P. your friend Annette
