Helen was smart, accomplished, hard-working, with friends from many facets of her journey. She appreciated spending time with those she cared for and always enjoyed extending hospitality to visitors, family, or a new stray cat. She was traditional and interested in her Ukrainian roots. History was her passion in school and out. After retirement she could truly be described to be a foodie. This fuelled her travels and many cherished friendships. Life was always bittersweet for Helen. Now I want for her to enjoy only the sweet.
May you Rest In Peace my friend.
Love always, Ellen Beausoleil

Helen and I transferred from Ottawa to Toronto with Bell Canada, and together we became chateaubriand experts as we adjusted to big city life. We shared many fun moments together over recipes, cookbook purchasing as well as cooking classes in Toronto. She was a very bright and beautiful gal and has left us far to young.

Helen and I met at a singles event in the mid 80's, and hit it off right away. Fellow Saggittarians, we both loved to cook and went to see Bibba together, shared recipes and ate together a lot since we both worked for Bell on Bay St.. Helen and I loved our discussions on many, many topics, including cats and politics; she was an intelligent and caring person with a wry sense of humour. My husband's and my lives have been all the better for having had Helen to share wonderful times with. Miss you darlin', more than you can know...
