Obituary for Hilde Holst (Kreyss)
In loving memory of Hilde Margaretta Holst nee Kreyss
March 4, 1943-November 7, 2021
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our wonderful mother, Hilde Holst, at the age of 78. She is now reunited with the love of her life and our amazing dad, Rainer, who passed away in 2019. She will be sadly missed by her children Elke Grafner (Wayne), Tonya Barrotta (Charlie) and Sandy Holst (Claudio). Proudest Oma to Danielle (Julien), Jamie, Joseph (Arianna), Nicholas and Jason. Hilda would have loved her first great-grandchild this coming spring.
Hilde was born in Germany and immigrated to Canada at a young age. Soon after, she met Rainer and enjoyed over 52 years of marriage before his passing. Hilde was vibrant, energetic, kind and one of the most generous people you will ever meet. She will be dearly missed by her siblings Giselle Buettner (predeceased Gert), her twin sister Elfriede Lung (Horst), Gabrielle Fanelli (predeceased Peter), Margot Friel (Jerry and predeceased Tom), her predeceased brother Klaus, Wolfgang Holst (Valerie), Lisa Jackson (Don) as well as her extended family and friends.
“In life we loved you dearly, in death we love you still. In our hearts you hold a special place, no one will ever fill”.
Visitation will take place at the Roadhouse & Rose Funeral Home, 157 Main St. S., Newmarket, on Friday, November 12, 2021 from 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. Funeral service in the chapel at 12 p.m., followed by interment at Churchill Cemetery. Due to COVID-19 capacity restrictions, you must RSVP to attend the visitation and/or funeral service by email at rsvp@roadhouseandrose.com or telephone 905.895.6631.
