Obituary for Joan Gough (Dolman)

Joan (Dolman) Gough - Passed away peacefully with her loving husband Geoffrey by her side on November 10, 2021 at the age of 87 years, in Newmarket.

She will be remembered and sadly missed by her children Linda (Michael Derry), David (Aileen), Leslie, and Janet (Paul O’Neil). Loving grandmother of Stephanie, Daniel, Gregory, Trevor and Amanda, and many great-grandchildren.

Dear daughter of the late Elsie and Roy Dolman of Netherton, England. Last surviving sister of Doris (Williams), Brenda (Neary), John, Ethel (Wilding), and Henry. A very special Auntie to numerous nephews, nieces, and their children.

Joan led a life full of love, fun, generosity and service. Geoff and Joan emigrated from England to Canada in 1973, with four children and a budgie. She was known to many in Newmarket through her work in retail. Joan volunteered her time and energy to many causes and was always quietly taking care of others through pastoral care. She was known for her excellent baking, coffee mornings and tireless service at St. Paul’s Anglican Church.

Special thanks to the wonderful caregivers and staff at The Renoir Retirement Home.
