Obituary

Arnold, John Charles (Ross)
It is with great sadness that the family announces Ross’ passing on January 5, 2020 in his 74th year after a difficult battle with neuroendocrine cancer.
Ross was the beloved husband of Donna for almost 50 years, loving father of Brent and Megan and John and Kathryn. He was the adored grandpa of Krystina and Morrigan. Ross was a special brother to Marg (John), and brother-in-law to Joanne (the late Brian), Judy (Nels) and Jean-Luc (Nicole).
Ross was a caring and dedicated teacher for the York Region District School Board for 32 years and will be fondly remembered by his former colleagues and students.
Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held in the summer.
Memorial donations for this sweet and gentle man may be made to the Stronach Regional Cancer Centre.
Arrangements entrusted to Roadhouse and Rose Funeral Home.

I had the pleasure of being one of Mr. Arnold's students in grade 4 at PCPS in the 1980's. What a memorable year! I distinctly remember him encouraging us to read and make art! My heartfelt condolences to all of his family and friends at this difficult time. He won't be forgotten.

I had the pleasure of being both a student and colleague of Ross’ at Prince Charles PS. He was a kind and caring man. I always appreciated his advice and his opinion. He had a wonderful sense of humour. I am very sad to hear of his passing. May there some comfort in the knowing that he had a positive impact on many young people’s lives. My sincerest condolences.

There are only a handful of teachers that I can confidently say were my favorite. Mr. Arnold was one of those teachers that I never forgot. He was so kind, gentle, and was always so engaged with every child. He always made us feel special. He was my fourth grade teacher at Prince Charles P.S. I still remember when he teamed up with Mr Fabrizio to make a reading loft for the class. I thought that it was the best thing ever and it scored him a lot of cool teacher points. I also remember him reading to us. He loved to laugh. He inspired us, embraced our creativity, and helped us love to learn. My condolences go out to his family and loved ones during this very difficult time. What an amazing man who touched so many hearts and minds. He will be missed and always remembered.

Mr Arnold was my grade 5 teacher at Aurora Heights Public School, 50 years ago. He made learning fun. It was the year he got married and the class threw him a shower. I will fondly remember him.

Mr. Arnold was my grade 8 teacher at Prince Charles....he was such a kind, calm, gentle man and I'm pretty sure he started my love of science. My most heartfelt condolences to his family on the loss of such a wonderful man.
