Obituary for John Carl Schaefer
John Carl Schaefer
August 27th, 1957 - May 8th, 2020
Heaven called home our angel after a courageous battle with Leukemia. His darling wife Cathy was at his bedside, and will forever miss her "Honeybun". John leaves to mourn his daughters Tabatha and Melissa (Jack) and grandchildren; the late Owen, Bailey, Zöe, Talia, and Grayson, and his fur baby "Buddy". John also leaves behind his siblings and many friends. John is the son of the late Fred and Elsie Schaefer.
He will be remembered by his community as "Papa Smurf". Thanks to Pastor Kobie and the Bethel Community Church. Special thanks to the cancer teams at Princess Margaret and Southlake Regional Health Centre, staff at Margaret Bahen Hospice for the end of life care, and to our friends at Roadhouse & Rose Funeral Home for handling the final details.
Due to COVID-19, cremation will take place and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
