Obituary for Margery Meek

Meek, Margery Louise

Beloved family matriarch, aunt, great aunt and great great aunt, Margery Louise Meek passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 2 at the age of 107 years.

Auntie Marge was the dear sister of the late George, Jack, Evelyn Cosby and Alice Pinos. She will be lovingly remembered by nieces and nephews, Patricia Cosby, Ken Cosby, Wendy Pinos, Tim Pinos, Richard Pinos, Doug Meek, Geoff Meek, Quent Meek, Dereck Meek, Chris Meek, Nat Webb and Roz Davis and their spouses as well as numerous great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews.

Auntie Marge was born in Toronto and lived for almost 100 years in her family home in the Annex with her brother, George. Much later she was joined by her niece, Pat, and her great-nephew, Andrew Cosby, whom she helped raise and loved as her own.

Auntie Marge enjoyed travel and photography - and had the pleasure of combining both on many photography tours to all continents of the world. An avid reader, she also relished late-night talk radio, a challenging crossword or sudoku and a good Jay's game. As a life long member of the Granite Club, she enjoyed swimming, golf, bridge and her many friends. Above all else, to Auntie Marge, was family - her sisters, her nieces and nephews and the next generations.

Auntie Marge was truly loved by all who had the pleasure of meeting her. She was interested, pragmatic, gracious and truly engaging. She will be missed.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.

The family wishes to send a special thanks to Ken Cosby for his dedication to and loving care of Auntie Marge for the past 8 years.
