Obituary for Martina Mary Lemmens (Lavigne)
LEMMENS, Martina – It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Martina Mary Lemmens at the Southlake Regional Health Centre, Newmarket, on Thursday, November 23, 2023. She was 89 years old.
Martina was a dedicated and loving mother to Peter Lemmens, Diana Campbell-Lemmens (Jeremy), and Rick Lemmens (Colleen). She was a proud and cherished grandmother to Keith (Lilli), Deanna (James), Shannon, and Brigid. Her legacy extended to the youngest generation as a great-grandmother to Ethan Campbell. She was the dear daughter of the late Aloysius Lavigne and Amanda Pitre.
Martina was a devoted life-long curler, enjoying many hours on the rink and bringing home dozens of trophies in recognition of her talent. In addition to curling, she had a particular fondness for the excitement of Bingo and the precision of darts. These activities were not just games to her; they were avenues for building connections, sharing laughter, and creating lasting memories with friends and loved ones.
A celebration of Martina’s life will be held at the Roadhouse & Rose Funeral Home, located at 157 Main Street South, Newmarket, on Saturday, January 6, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks you to make a donation to a charity of your choice.
