Obituary for Michele Kearney

Michele D Kearney

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Michele Kearney (nee Caron) on April 14th, 2021 in her 56th year. Loving wife of Joel and beloved mother of Jessica and Jacob. Sister to Kelly, Leslie (Steve Shadoff), Dana (Jim Mancuso), and Scott (Jamie Frewin); daughter of Grace Frewin.

Michele was born in Toronto and grew up in Aurora, attended Dr. G W Williams High School. She went onto George Brown College where she was Student Union President of Nightingale Campus. Michele received a degree in addiction counselling and made lifelong friends, including Mr. Jack Walters who walked her down the aisle at her wedding.

As a young adult Michele travelled to France where she worked as an Au Pair, which she spoke fondly of over the years. Michele returned to Aurora where she took a job at a popular local restaurant, The Greystones, this is where she met the love of her life Joel, in 1993 they wed and started a family with the arrive of Jessica in 1993 and Jacob in 1995, becoming a mother was one of the biggest joys of Michele’s life. She taught her children many life lessons including to be helpful and if you couldn’t be helpful, to be kind.

Michele took great pleasure in the friendship of her family, particularly the shopping trips with her sisters and cousins, these trips were more about the laughter then it was the shopping but Michele held her own in that department too.

As a resident of York Region Michele believed in giving back whenever she could. Michele sat on the boards of the East Gwillimbury tennis club, she served as the chair of the Gala committee of the York Region Abuse Program (now Cedar Center), volunteered with Heart & Stroke, along with other community events and organizations along the way. She especially loved volunteering at the Magana Hoe Down, she did this for over a decade in “The Bank”.

Michele loved to learn and try new things, this included her many jobs over the years, from Magna to the Trillium Automotive Association, Aurora Cycle Supply to ING Real Estate she loved every job she ever had for different reasons but mainly because of the people she met throughout her journey.

Michele and Joel lived in many different neighbourhoods in there 28 years of marriage and Michele took great pleasure in meeting and becoming friends with her neighbours, she always found positive things to say about all of them.

Michele was much more than just a wife, mother, sister, daughter or friend, she was strength,
love and passion, she is loved deeply and will be missed greatly by her family and friends.

We would like to thank the dedicated medical staff at Southlake and McKenzie Health for their dedicated commitment to the wellbeing of their patients and the kindness they provided Michele and our family throughout this process.

At this time no service has been arranged due to COVID-19 restrictions. If desired memorial donations can be made to The Cedar Center, Southlake Foundation or Canadian Mental Health Association. On-line condolences at www.roadhouseandrose.com
