Obituary for Myrtle Ellen Keys (Richards)

Myrtle Ellen Keys
December 21, 1949 - November 16, 2022

Passed away peacefully with family by her side at Margaret Bahen Hospice in Newmarket, in her 72nd year.

A resident of Toronto for 55 years before retiring to Newmarket in 2005.

Beloved mother of Laura (David) Hughes and proud grandmother of John and Alexandra. Sister of Judy (Victor) Machado and the late Roy Wayne Richards. Dear daughter of the late Irene (LePage) and Roy Richards. She will be greatly missed by good friend and former spouse John Keys, along with family, friends, neighbours and co-workers she has come to know over the years.

Myrtle was proud of her 35 years working at CIBC, and as a crossing guard and school helper during retirement. Her proudest accomplishment was being a mother and grandmother. She was always the loudest in the stands and happiest when cheering on John and Alexandra. She was a lover of animals and enjoyed her walks around the neighborhood with her dog Snoopy and more recently enjoyed her adventures at the dog park with Bentley. Myrtle will be remembered by her kindness, good humour and willingness to help others.

The family would like to thank everyone for taking the time to visit and call while Myrtle was in hospice. Your love and friendship were greatly appreciated.
