Obituary for Patricia Ann Foran (Collins)

Pat Foran (nee Collins) passed away peacefully at home in Newmarket, on July 27, 2022 in her 71st year. Devoted wife of Stephen Foran (Duke) for 52 years. Beloved mother of Nicole Gowan (Jim) and Samantha Watson (Randy). Often referred to as Gramma Pat (GP), a proud grandmother of Parker, Blake, Dalton, Bryson and Kennedy and Sister to Danny, Kenny, Linda, Stephen, Robbie and the late Art and Aunt to numerous nieces and nephews.
Reunited now in Heaven with her parents Ruth and Ken Collins and her brother Art.

Pat was the firstborn of seven children to H. Ruth (nee Shields) and Kenneth H. Collins in Toronto at the Grace Hospital on December 24, 1951. She graduated from Birch Cliff Heights Public School in Scarborough, Huron Heights Secondary School in Newmarket and continued to educate herself in later years to achieve her OBMDP (Ontario Business Management Development Diploma) through offsite studies at Seneca College. In 1966 she resided in Queensville and met Stephen (Duke).

She was well respected by her family and peers for ongoing efforts to keep relatives and friends in touch through organizing and hosting family reunions, holiday get-together’s. She was employed by Brices’s Burger Bar, Shouldice Hospital, York Region District School Board for 33 years and volunteered for 8 years as Secretary at the Newmarket Veterans’ Association before being elected as President of the NVA in 2015.

Pat suffered with Parkinson’s Disease for 15 years after diagnosis in 2007. In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place and the family will be having a private Celebration of Life at a later date.
