As my sister, Dianne, shared below, Ruth was a faithful friend who was almost like a family member to us, praying for us constantly and helping us in multiple ways. Living on the West Coast, I especially remember being with her when I came home at Christmas, which she often spent with us at my parents' retreat centre outside of London. She always had a word from the Lord or encouraging words for each of us, and for the people she loved. I always looked forward to sharing with her when I came home, as well as receiving her occasional letters. Our conversations were always positive and uplifting and centered around the Lord.
She will by truly missed by her family and all who loved and cared for her down through the years, but she is now rejoicing with the Lord in heaven. All my sympathies go out to the family -- may you experience the love, peace, and comfort of the Lord.
In Him,
Kelsey Haskett

Ruth Atkinson was a dear family friend whose presence in our lives was a perpetual blessing from the time we first met. Words cannot begin to express all that Ruth did for us and how she helped and encouraged us in so many way. She was a regular volunteer at our parent's Christian retreat centre known as Gilead; she was a devoted member of her church; she loved the Jewish community and attended synagogue regularly and volunteered to help their seniors; she was also a big supporter of the land of Israel and of the Jewish National Fund and its annual Negev dinner; she also supported the Christian Embassy at Jerusalem and travelled many times to the Holy Land to be a blessing and to pray for its people and for peace. She was such a strong supporter and encourager of me and my family during my time of service as Mayor of London and devoted large amounts of time to praying for this work and for my family. She loved us unconditionally and always spoke positive words from the Lord over our lives. We can never begin to say enough about the kindnesses we experienced from Ruth Atkinson and we will remain eternally grateful for the Lord bringing Ruth into our lives. She was truly a Godly woman and a wonderful example to all who knew her.
Our hearts and prayers are with Ruth's family in this time of bereavement and we thank you for sharing a portion of Ruth with us during her life.
In deepest sympathy,
Dianne Haskett, Jack Kotowicz and Annie Haskett-Kotowicz
