Obituary for Shirley Ann Edna Lepard

Shirley-Ann Edna Lepard (Fairbarn)
November 26, 1941 – September 28, 2022

With love and gratitude for a wonderful life, we announce the peaceful passing of our beautiful mother Shirley-Ann Edna (Fairbarn) Lepard at Margaret Bahen Hospice on September 28, 2022 in her 81st year. Predeceased by her husband David Lepard, and her parents Howard Ethan and Edna Viola Fairbarn.

Shirley was a caring mother to three children, Brian (Leslie), Darlene (Rick), and Debbie (Blair). A special Grandma to Bryan (Lavy), Vicki (Marco), Samantha (Neil), Sarina (Joel), Braedon (Brittany) and Logan (Jane). Great Grandma to Tero, Brendon, Kimberley, Abby, Bryan Jr, Nixon, Jayden and McKenzie.

Mom was extremely proud of all of her grand-children and was thrilled with every major milestone they achieved in life. Whether school, sports, new jobs, finding their special someone, marriage and then children, she loved watching their personal growth and celebrating their achievements.

Nothing made Mom happier than working in her garden, sewing, watching classic movies & TV shows, reading books and playing games on her iPad. She lived a simple life and never asked for anything. She enjoyed spending time with her family and always greeted you with a big smile. Her sense of humour was forever present followed by a twinkle in her eyes.

Mom will also be remembered by the many students she drove to and from Sharon Public School and the Catholic Elementary School during the years 1969 to 2004. Known as Mrs Lepard to many, she loved driving school bus and, unfortunately for her student passengers, rarely experienced a snow day.

The family wishes to sincerely thank the staff at Southlake Regional Hospital, and Margaret Bahen Hospice for their compassionate care of Mom.

A private Memorial Service will be held for the immediate family.

Please join us on Friday, October 7, 2022 at Roadhouse & Rose Funeral Home, 157 Main Street South,Newmarket for a “Celebration of Life” gathering upstairs from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., along with a light lunch.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Mom’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
