Obituary for Shirley Philis MacKay (Yakeley)
It is with heavy hearts that our family announces the passing of our dear mother Shirley MacKay. Shirley passed away peacefully on Wednesday February 15th, 2023, at 76 years of age.
Shirley was bravely battling cancer prior to her stay at the Margaret Bahen Hospice in Newmarket Ontario.
Daughter of the late Gladys Sewell and Oliver Yakeley. Sister of the late Mabel Lingwood (Graham), the late Keith Yakeley (survived by Lynne), Bill Sewell (Marianne).
She is survived by loving daughters Susan, Janie (Sean), Ann-Marie (Paul), and loving son Fred (Michelle). (Nat) and (Tom).
Proud grandmother of Brittany, Tara (Devin), Joe, Daniel (Marlo), Ricky (Lea), Chevy (Jessica), Will (Lisa), Victoria, Tomia, Alyvia, Laura, Kelsi, Rebecca and Blaine. Great grandmother of Elsie, Millie, Hudson, Finley and Weston, Ava, Evan, Nolan, Charlotte, Adalyn.
Cherished aunt to her nieces and nephews. She will be sadly missed by many dear friends and family.
She made an impact on so many people. She was a joyful presence with her colorful personality. She loved her family and friends and will be missed by her doggie companion Annie.
The family would like to thank the incredible Staff and Volunteers at Margaret Bahen Hospice for the wonderful care and love they provided Shirley in her last weeks.
