ABRAHAM, Virginia Lucy “Ginny”
Passed away peacefully at home in Newmarket with her family at her side on Friday September 11, 2020, in her 91st year.

Loving wife of the late James for 49 years. Dearly beloved mother of Kent (Barbara) and Daniel (Susan). Ginny was the proud grandmother of Julia, Robert, and Patrick. Great-grandmother to Jacqueline, Maxwell and Bennett. She is survived by one sibling, Alfreda Mauney of Belleville, Michigan, U.S.A. and predeceased by her 12 brothers and sisters. Ginny was the beloved daughter of Blanche and Luther Thomason.

Ginny was born on January 10, 1930, in Belleville, Michigan, U.S.A. She became a proud Canadian citizen in 1995. She was a wonderful homemaker, skilled gardener and master cake maker/decorator. Mom loved hosting many dinner parties for her friends and family. Her love of travel and seeking out adventure with the love of her life James was one of her greatest joys. Ginny had many friends and a very active social life. She was a volunteer at York County Hospital (now known as Southlake Regional Health Centre) for 20 years, a competitive 5-pin bowler, the First Lady of the Richmond Hill and Newmarket Rotary Clubs, 3-time First Lady of the Pipeline Contractors Association of Canada, a Paul Harris Fellow, and a member of The Order Of The Eastern Star.
