BOVAIR, William “Ross” passed away peacefully at Southlake Hospital in Newmarket on May 31, 2022, in his 96th year. Ross was the very loving husband of Yvonne Bovair and would have been married for 72 years in August. Ross was the beloved father of Cathi Jagodics (predeceased by Attila Jagodics), Gary Bovair (Julie) and Michelle Lavallee (Steve Bagley). Ross had 8 wonderful grandchildren who he was proud of. Jennifer Perrin (Jon), Matthew Jagodics, Chris Jagodics (Robin), Shawn Bovair, Andrew Bovair, Holly Glass (Jeff), Emily Lavallee (Jesse Gates) and Alyssa Lavallee. Ross was extremely appreciative of the time he was able to spend with his 7 great grandchildren, Tyler Perrin, Marissa Jagodics, Hailey Perrin, Attila Jagodics, Violet Jagodics, Zander Jagodics and Cooper Glass. Ross is predeceased by his sister Edith Larkin (John) and his parents Arthur and Florence Bovair.
Ross helped build and then worked for 32 years at Sterling Drugs in Aurora and during this time and after “retirement”, he began his own business and passion for painting to which he introduced Gary, Michelle and Grandchildren, Matt and Chris. Ross was involved in the church choir and a barber shopper before becoming one of the founding members of the York Region Police Male Chorus where he was a member for 25 years and sang in the illustrious Bass section. His passion for our Lord, Jesus Christ and the music that honored him was always foremost in Ross’ heart and mind. In fact, you could quite often hear him humming if not signing hymns and songs new and old. But his real passion was his wife, Yvonne, and his family. Yvonne developed Alzheimer’s many years ago and he did his best to care for her in their family home. When he was no longer able to, he spent every waking moment, until he could no longer drive with his bride of almost 72 years, feeding her, kissing her, and reminding her how much he loved her. Ross was and still remains a wonderful role model for each member of the family.
Special thanks to the caring staff at The Eldon in Bradford, where Ross lived for the past 3 years and staff at Southlake Hospital in Newmarket who cared for Ross in his last weeks.
The family invite all family and friends to a funeral service in honor of Ross on Saturday, June 25, 2022, 2pm at Victory Baptist Church in Newmarket, Ontario (18408 Yonge St) where refreshments will be served afterwards.
