I offer my deepest sympathy to Joan’s family. I knew Joan though her work with the World Health Organization (WHO), beginning when she was at IAPA. She was a fantastic contributor to WHO, to the Network of Collaborating Centers of Occupational Health, and to workers globally. Joan was a light in the darkness and helped so many people. I have such respect and fondness for her. In 2009 Joan served as Rapporteur for our WHO Network Meeting in Geneva. She was the lead author of the WHO Healthy Workplace Model, which built upon the Canadian model and is now influencing all parts of the globe. Her impact will continue far into the future.
