Obituary for Doreen Zella Howard

Doreen Zella Howard (nee Wood), wife of the late John Edric Howard, mother of Wayne (Carol), Jim (Brenda), Norman (Linda) entered into eternal peace and rest on Friday December 12, 2014. She was dearly loved by her three granddaughters Erica, Stephanie & Mikayla. Born in Toronto, Doreen was the daughter of the late Clarence and Zella Wood and was predeceased by her four sisters Margie, Audrey, Mavis & Marilyn. She spent her early teaching years in Toronto but later moved to Willowdale. Doreen was a well-known decorative, tole and watercolor artist.
Doreen & John raised their three Sons in Willowdale before moving to Cloyne in Eastern Ontario where they spent 22 years of retirement. In 2004 they moved to Holland Landing, closer to family. She will be missed by family and many friends. Doreen will never be forgotten for her creativeness, teaching abilities and kindness to all. She was a warm, loving and talented Woman.

Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at 1:00pm at Sharon Hope United Church, 18648 Leslie Street, Sharon, Ontario.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Southlake Regional Health Centre, Cancer Care Program or a charity of your choice and would be appreciated by the family.
