Brian Robert Million
March 28th, 1939 – May 20th, 2015

Brian, with family by his side, passed peacefully on Wednesday May 20th ending his challenge with Alzheimer's. Loving Husband of Melva (pre-deceased December 2013) of 53 years, father to Todd (pre-deceased March 2015), Daughter Anne-Marie and her husband Paul Osborne. Special Papa to grandchildren Jayme (Taylor), Devin (Jeff), Madeleine and Brian Paul. Loving brother to June (Joe) and Margaret (Bill - predeceased), Jimmie and Barry - predeceased (Alice).

Born in Toronto to parents Bill and Rita Million, Newmarket became Brian’s home in the late 50s when he moved to play hockey for the Gorman Smoke Rings. Newmarket hockey became a large part of his life as he moved on to coach the Newmarket Redmen and the Newmarket Flyers for many years. Brian and Melva owned and operated Million’s Pools in the 70s, building many pools in the Newmarket Area. He later went on to have a long career in the food service business, through which he made many lifelong friends. Brian was man of immense integrity and honesty; an outstanding leader and always fair and considerate of others.

There are not enough words to express the appreciation to the staff at the Newmarket Health Centre Long Term Care – Rogers Boulevard who made sure Brian faced every day in a loving and respectful environment by providing constant care and compassion - you are exceptional people!

Brian was exceptional lucky to have his two sisters June Diguillo and Margaret Smith who visited daily, assisted with his care and provided love and support throughout the last 18 months.
Weekly visits from Terry Gorman, Rick Cartwright, Dwight Lyon, and Terry Potts provided him and his family with such a great amount of support and friendship.

Life was a special place with you and will not be the same, you are already missed immensely but knowing you are reunited with Mom and Todd brings us peace.

There will be a private family interment at the Newmarket Cemetery, with a Celebration of Life to be held on Tuesday July 14, 2015, 7:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. at Cardinal Golf Club, King, Ontario.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Brian’s memory to the Southlake Foundation Love Lives Here Residential Hospice Campaign.
