Arthur "Art" Edward Leamen passed away suddenly on May 30, 2015, in his 89th year, surrounded by his family. Beloved husband to Martha for almost 67 years. Loving father to Eddie (Alyce), Harvey (predeceased), Randy (Heather), Gail (Barry), Barry, Cheryl (Peter), and Lynne. Proud "Grandpa" to 17 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Art was an electrician by trade, and a long time employee of Kodak Canada (28 years), and The Royal Ontario Museum (15 years). He was born in Milliken, Ontario and lived in Scarborough for many years before moving to Newmarket to be closer to family. He was a longtime member of the United Church (Church of the Master, Washington United, and Trinity United), and enjoyed gardening, family gatherings, and drives in the country with his wife by his side. He was well known for his outgoing personality, great sense of humour, and his love of desserts. He was greatly loved and will be missed by all who knew him. Visitation will take place at Roadhouse and Rose Funeral Home, Newmarket on Wednesday, June 3, 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. Funeral will take place at Trinity United Church, Newmarket on Thursday, June 4, at 11:00 am. Donations in memory of Arthur may be made to The Kidney Foundation or The Canadian Diabetes Association.
