Passed away peacefully at Chartwell Aurora Long Term Care on Tuesday September 8, 2015 at the age of 91. Loving husband of the late Peggy and beloved father of Julie (husband Ross). Proud grandfather of 3 and proud great grandfather of 5. Alec was born in England and moved to Canada in 1952 with his wife and daughter. As a result of hard work and a willing, agreeable spirit he advanced from floor sweeping to Manager of Quality Control at Westinghouse Canada for 31 years. After retirement he and his wife Peggy travelled each summer until Peggy’s ill health forced them to stay home. After Peggy’s death in 2003 he moved to Newmarket to live with his daughter and son-in-law. A funeral service will be held at the St. Paul’s Anglican Church, 227 Church Street, Newmarket on Saturday September 12, 2015 at 2 p.m. with one hour of visitation prior.
