Powell, Douglas Ronald passed away peacefully at Southlake Regional Health Centre in Newmarket on Sunday September 20, 2015 at the age of 80 years old. Loving husband to the late Marilyn Powell (1981). Beloved Father to Lori (Terry) McGeown, Craig (Silvana), Mike (Debbie) predeceased by daughter in law Liana. Beloved Granddad to Justin (Kara), Sarah (Brendan), Joshua, Matthew and Rachel. Was looking forward to becoming a Great Granddad x2. Dear brother of Pam (Bill) Barwick, Sandra (Ron) Allen, and Ellie (Jim) Salywoda. Wonderful and long time friend to Al Monk, Laurel and Bob Ball. Will be sadly missed by all his nephews, nieces, cousins and extended family members. Missed by Dakota too. Doug was born in Toronto on September 30, 1934. He worked at SPAR Aerospace for 42 years and did various jobs there. But was so proud to be an Inspector of the manipulator of the Canada Arm. He had the privilege of meeting several astronauts over many years.
The family would like to thank the staff at Southlake especially in MACU and CVICU for their compassionate care and to Dr. Hindocha and Dr. Chun.

Visitation will be held at the Roadhouse & Rose Funeral Home, 157 Main Street S., Newmarket on Friday October 2 from 6-9 p.m. A Celebration of Life will take place in the chapel on Saturday October 3 at 2 p.m.
