June 29, 1946 – November 7, 2015
Peacefully at Southlake Regional Health Centre in his 70th year following a brief battle with cancer.
Loving Granddad to Emma and Sam, and father to Tara (Ern), Michael Sean, and Erin (Jen). Big brother “Jim” to siblings Lorna, Joan, Sheila, and Sean.
The eldest son of Benedict Dwyer and Helen Burke from Tilting, Fogo Island in Newfoundland, Michael will be remembered by a large network of extended family.
A lifelong educator and student, Michael influenced the lives of hundreds of students in his 40 year career. He worked as both a Teacher and a Principal, first in the Greater Montreal Area, and then in York Region in Ontario.
A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, November 28th at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Aurora, ON. A reception with light refreshments will follow at the Church.
Memorial donations may be made to the World Wildlife Fund Canada in Michael’s name.
