Ah, what a fun day, it's spring, Joe, Debbie, Russ, Vicki, James and Mike are out for a canoe trip along the Holland River.
We are all having a good time, it is a bit cool but not too bad. I am 7 months pregnant but a willing participant. At one point it starts to drizzle so we took shelter under a bridge until the rain passed over. The two young boys climbed out of the canoes and stood on shore. Being boys, they started tossing rocks and chunks of clay into the water. Joe warned them to make sure to not throw anywhere near the canoes (which the adults had stayed in). No sooner where those words out of Joes mouth, Russ lobbed a chunk of dirt, which hit me right in the side of my head! Needless to say, Joe was NOT IMPRESSED!
After we all stopped laughing and calmed Joe down (thinking he was going to throttle Russ) we continued on our journey. This has always been a very fond memory of our days with Joe and family, amongst many others....some of us know the yellow truck incident too!
Joe, you will be very sadly missed by all the Vanderheydens. Rest in peace my friend.
Love from Vicki & Bill Bradley
